Helpful Summary of DEAC and BPEE Requirements
An institution shall not require a prospective student to provide personal contact information in order to obtain information from the institution's website.
Every institution shall retain, for a minimum of five years, copies of all advertising, including flyers, brochures, other print advertisements, and internet content.
All advertising must clearly state that programs are offered “at a distance” or “online.”
All website testimonials and endorsements must be less than four years old.
All print advertisements and promotional literature must contain the institution’s city, state, and website home page URL.
All web-based advertisements must provide a link to the institution’s website home page URL.
The word “guarantee” can never be used.
Only under limited and exceptional circumstances, institutions may use the word “free”.
