Danny Hunter
Danny Hunter is the Director of the Ralph D. Winter Research Center. He earned a PhD in Intercultural Studies from Asbury Theological Seminary in 2021. His dissertation focused on how local churches build partnerships with international sister churches as a way of engaging directly in mission. This project flowed out of his previous experience as a missions pastor. Since receiving his PhD, Danny has been serving as adjunct faculty for several different institutions, teaching both undergraduate and graduate classes in mission, bible, culture, and world religions. He has also worked as a consultant for churches and missions organizations who are interested in the engagement of the local church in mission.
Danny is always interested in new ways of conducting research, convening a working group on new research methods at a recent gathering of the International Association of Mission Studies. He lives in Wilmore, Kentucky with his wife, Lisa, daughter, Kaylynn, and their Lab-mix Ryder. When he’s not planning or conducting research you can probably find him reading something by Tolkien, plotting a fly-fishing trip, or watching an INDYCAR race.
