Growing, Changing, Spreading
Dear WCIU Colleagues and Friends,
Blessings to you as I prepare to fly to Thailand and Malaysia.
One of our core strategies this year is to strengthen our relationships with agencies and other schools, and I will visit multiple examples of both on this trip.
In Thailand I will help facilitate a training event for Asian pioneer workers from various agencies, and explore ways our WCIU programs might be of help for some of their leaders. In Malaysia, in a similar vein, I will meet with multiple agencies, with one university which uses our curriculum and has been translating it into Mandarin, and visit a number of leaders of movements within several different Muslim countries and contexts.
As you know, this last year has seen number of changes in WCIU: primarily the sale of a portion of the property we have held in Pasadena. We are in the process now of moving our offices and academics team and library across the street into the building owned by Frontier Ventures, called Hudson Taylor Hall.
At the same time, WCIU has welcomed new students, is developing a new Institute for South Asia Studies, launched the China Studies Institute, made significant progress in our pursuit of academic excellence, and improved our outreach to agencies.
I am grateful for the progress even in the midst of challenge, and sense a rising level of joy and confidence among our staff.
I pray daily for our alumni and students....and look forward to connecting with you in future travels if we can.
Blessings
Kevin Higgins
