December 8th, 100 Years Later
Dec 8, 2024 Marks Our Founders 100th Birthday!
Check out this newsletter from the Ralph D. Winter Research Center in honor of our founder’s 100th birthday!
Did you know that December 8, 2024 would have been Ralph Winter's 100th birthday? It snuck up on us too! To mark the occasion, we at the Ralph D Winter Research Center wanted to send out a small sample of the gems we get to see every day. First, we have a birthday card that was sent to Ralph for his 33rd birthday. It came from his home church in California and it found him in Costa Rica while he was doing language study in preparation for his family's missionary assignment to Guatemala.
Next we found an except from an article written in 1978. In this article, Dr Winter lays out his case for a global consultation of mission agencies. I have to say that his points remain quite salient 45 years later. This call was answered in 1980 with the World Consultation on Frontier Missions in Edinburgh. Our collection holds the materials that went into the planning and execution of that conference and we just finished our re-organization of those holdings. Drop by sometime and take a look!
Thank you for being a part of stewarding Dr Winter's legacy. He was a remarkable man and a huge blessing to generations of people with a heart for mission, many of whom never even knew his name. We're honored to partner with you in that work here at the RDWRC. And please reach out if you ever have any questions or ideas about how we can serve you better.
Gratefully,
