Superwomen, Dance, and Pentecost:

Worship through Dance, Drum, String, Pipe, and Voice in Beautiful Bavaria

Ever heard of Pfingsten?

It’s Pentecost in German.

Our Steering Committee member, Prof. Dr. Philomena Njeri Mwaura of Kenyatta University just celebrated it in an outdoor service in Germany, where she preaches with Prof. Dr. Heike Walz of Augustana University (The Augustana-Hochshule, Neuendettelsau, Bavaria).  Their sermon weaves together Miriam as a female prophet, dance as prayer, and the Trinity.

You won’t want to miss this multicultural service, co-sponsored by Mission EineWelt (Mission One World) and conducted in German, English, and Kikuyu. And there’s plenty of DANCE by Tanzanian women, an African dancer, and Irina Jang!

The service is 30 minutes long; here are some time stamps For quick reference:

  • 5:35 Walking in the Light of God (dance & song)

  • 9:54 Sermon (in English)

  • 21:00 Worship (dance & drum)

  • 22:30 Prayer (in Kikuyu w/ English translation)

  • 24:30 Our Father (duet in German)

For more from Irina Jang, check out our previous blog post in which she shares her passion for dance and how she uses it to glorify God!
