WCIU is DEAC Accredited!

William Carey International University (WCIU) is pleased to announce that WCIU has gained accreditation by the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC), strengthening its service to students, alumni, and partners in international development.

WCIU’s achievement of DEAC accreditation is the culmination of a rigorous three years, in which WCIU staff and stakeholders worked with DEAC to review and improve a wide range of university services and procedures. DEAC accreditation positions WCIU for an ongoing process of continuous improvement in the months and years ahead. This accreditation applies to all WCIU Master's degrees granted from this date forward.

WCIU President Kevin Higgins observes, “This news heralds a new era in WCIU’s life and signals our commitment to high-quality education serving the needs of future students for many years to come.”

The Distance Education Accrediting Commission is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a recognized accrediting agency, and the DEAC is also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA). With headquarters in Washington, DC, the DEAC is a private, non-profit organization that operates as a national accreditor of institutions that primarily offer distance education.
